you heard wrong. I remember this: "You (us) are to be commended for your charity and generosity". I thought of doing things for sick ones and such. Wrong. Then: "Your contributions have kept up for the slave". You know Christ's brothers, the least of them (big 8) in particular

that survey didn't even mention that lots of people want education to further the good of all mankind. Doctors, nurses, come to mind.
The elders who do more for the flock usually have enough money to not work 2 jobs, and smarts to figure problems out.

Wt video this week big problem.
by poopie inproblem with this week's video on counsel.
why did they emphasize the counsel and not the fact that those who were watching movie should have followed christ counsel at mathew 5 go to your brother instead they ratted on the guy to an elder and let him do dirty work.wow just totally ignore jesus words..

don't forget this is "from Jehovah". A poorly handled matter done wrong concerning a conscience matter with guidlines that you can't follow easily. Movie ratings change from country to country, and content may offend one and not another.
Della is right: don't tell or share

Help me with the disfellowshipping topic, how is it NOT scriptural
by LevelThePlayingField inmany have said that jesus never shunned anyone.
yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.
but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

There was no one year rule, the man in Corinth was out for a couple months apparently. Some things are appalling to even the world. The whole congregation knew the what and why so could judge for themselves on fairness. There was no command for families to engage in "necessary business" only. There was probably a double standard on popularity and who you knew or were related to (elders kids?) but it couldn't have been any worse than nowadays. There were no perpetual records kept in some central oversight group. There was no enforcer who visited regularly to keep things up.

You Know You're Starting To Wake Up When...
by pale.emperor inyou start listening to music deemed "unsuitable for christians".
you pretend to knock on the doors.
you explain a jw teaching to someone and realize how ridiculous it sounds.

when you explain beliefs, you find you can't., not even considering how silly it sounds. things like the generations, or 607 as a starting point when you can't even come close to explaining how 607 is right

Just looked at the convention program. What weird artwork. And the odd voices on the bible reading "GEE-HOOOE_VAAH". Makes cartoons seem normal. Any normal person should be embarrassed.

Example of sensitive data – should I be worried?
by Fay Dehr in### here's a link to a high-quality version of the above form: https://1drv.ms/u/s!amcrvjcxi6m6a2mdhysjdll3m00 ###.
the attached image is the rear of form a-27; this is just example of many forms that contain personal data.
i’d like to know: should i be worried?.

No 5 is on the form twice????????? BTW I failed. And who defines imappropriate movies, music, and conduct. And appearance; do I need cufflinks how? (and a pinky ring) They left off the part about a 4 door car!!!!
Counting time: I count all the fooling around too, and still get is "low" hours. You ruin a whole Saturday, getting dressed, traveling, a discussion that goes way longer than the guidlines, then arranging car groups, then nobody is home anyway, waiting for the guy with the map to finally get there, then a break (best part), so you spend 4 hours and talk to maybe 2 people.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses always answer questions through the bible?
by MarieChii inhi.. recently i've been researching jehovah's witnesses and their beliefs and found out that they don't believe in blood transfusions.
so, i've asked one of my friends who is a jw as to what is the reason for this, and so far, they had always directed me to a bible verse that is in their bible.. clearly, i wasn't getting anywhere and so far, it's pretty much frustrating to even make my friend give me reasonable reason.
when i was getting somewhere, even a smidgen, they would answer with a question.

using the Bible isn;t the problem. it is cherry pciking verses and misapplying them that is.

CO working at Walmart
by the girl next door init just took me by surprise.
i remember him from a decade or so ago.
he came up with gems like, “weddings are for women, they are not necessary.” also, “if you want to be truly happy, marry an ugly woman.”.

There were a few good CO's, as noted, emphasis in few. Any one who is "taken care of" by the society is actually taken care of by someone the org. can find and get to do the work and use their own money.
I joke about WM being my retirement plan; after all we are at least 20 or 30 years into the new system.

Oh Boy! Beards are "stumbling blocks" again ... from Stephen Lett
by freddo inso this week's midweek meeting video about stumbling others has lett spouting and gurning rubbish again.. if you can't take the whole 9 minutes go from 5:50 to get the context and 6:45 for the "beard" mention.. https://youtu.be/ezv1ici5cwo.
oh, well - at least they shoot themselves in the foot with this doublespeak.
single.

The only ones who may be stumbled would be ones looking for a reason. I counted personnel at the hospital, 75% beards. I would claim to be stumbled by the beard ban, except have to admit I am looking for reasons. A lot of people don't think twice if their doctor has a beard. My friend and I may try the beards at the next CA.
Earlier in the video he mentioned the scolding for not going out in service. Then fewer raised hands? I would raise mine, then be a no show. And they should well know about harping and scolding on doing "enough".
